Loan & Scholarship Information

The Engineering Society of Baltimore Education Foundation offers scholarship loans and grants to graduating high school students that will be pursuing a degree in engineering in an ABET approved program. The scholarships are limited to students from the Baltimore Metropolitan area including Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard Counties.

In 2022, multiple scholarships and up to three $4,000, 4% were offered. The loans are renewable each year providing the student is still enrolled in an ABET approved program, his/her grades are acceptable, and he/she is up to date on the interest payments.

An ESB Corporate Member, James Posey Associates, has founded a special scholarship, the “James Posey Centennial Engineering Scholarship” in the amount of $3,000 awarded to an individual aspiring to a career in electrical or mechanical engineering.

The American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Chesapeake Section offered two (2) scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each to be awarded to individuals aspiring to a career in the Highway Industry (including, but not limited to Civil and Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning and Construction Management).

Additional scholarship awards were made to outstanding candidates based on specific criteria of additional scholarship sponsors.
